The International Potato Processing & Storage Convention is the event for joining together the industries traditionally covered by our magazines, Potato Processing International and Potato Storage International, as well as the newly launched Potato Business Digital.
Traditionally held alternately in North America or Europe, the IPPSC has, since it started in 1997, brought together a glittering array of international speakers from the industry, research and academia to impart the latest developments to attendees.
Potato Processing International was first published in 1992 and first introduced the popular International Potato Processing Convention in 1997. When Potato Storage International was launched in 2004, it was clear that there was also a demand for a convention that offered an international look at the global opportunities for the storage industry, which led to the creation of the International Potato Storage Convention (IPPSC).
There was a clear opportunity to 'twin' the International Potato Storage Convention with the established International Potato Processing Convention and create a broader, higher value event - a move that was very effective and greatly liked by attendees.
Offering dedicated programmes for each of the storage and processing industries, with delegates free to enjoy both programmes as much as they wished and sharing break out facilities, created great interaction. Feedback demanded the concept of combining the two events should continue and we will, with some changes to the structure, to further enhance the event in the coming years to maintain its relevance and importance to the wider global potato industry.
