Potato Planting in the UK Going Well, Says Potato Council PDF Print E-mail
Written by admin
Warmer and drier weather has allowed UK potato growers to make promising progress according to the Potato Council.

Marked increases in planting were seen particularly in the Midlands and western regions.

Excellent land conditions allowed growers in Pembrokeshire to increase planting last week and on Anglesey planting of Premiere and Lady Rosetta varieties is almost complete.

But cold and wet soils in Suffolk have slowed progress.

Planting of Maris Piper potatoes in Norfolk started last week in Norfolk and Lincolnshire.
