Cargill acquires Indian sunflower oil brand PDF Print E-mail

Cargill has signed an agreement with Marico Ltd. to acquire Marico's refined sunflower oil brand Sweekar in India.

The acquisition is limited to the brand only. Cargill already produces and markets sunflower oil in India under its NatureFresh and Gemini brands.

"Acquiring the Sweekar brand underscores Cargill's long-term commitment to growing our consumer food business in India," said Siraj Chaudry, chairman of Cargill India. "Sweekar is an excellent fit with our existing strong brand portfolio of health and low absorption oils."
