State-of-the-Art Habasit Fabrication Facility Opens PDF Print E-mail

Habasit, a leading manufacturer of high-quality conveyor and power transmission belting products, has opened a new fabrication and administration facility in Cordignano, north-eastern Italy.

Mr Thomas Habegger, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Habasit Holding AG, all members of the Board of Directors of Habasit Holding and Habasit AG, as well as company co-founder Mrs Alice Habegger, attended the inaugural event and met employees of Habasit Italiana and representatives of the authorities.
"The Cordignano plant has an area of 8'200 m2, almost double the size of the former fabrication plant in Vittorio Veneto. It houses our traditional fabric-based belting assembly, the administrative staff and the customer services. With the relocation of our activities, we are now able to significantly improve supply chain management, which will directly benefit our customers," stated Habegger.
The plant is among the world's most modern technological facilities. Its unique, state-of-the-art automated and semi-automated equipment meets the highest environmental and safety standards. The plant will deliver even faster response times, and thanks to its on-site belting specialists, even better service for customers.
Not only Italian customers will profit from the increased capacity: the plant uses economies of scale to fabricate a wide array of belts, and can handle the entire range of special applications for other Habasit affiliated companies worldwide.
In the near future, the new site will expand to include the Machine & Tools department and the Plastic division which includes the Habiplast products and the modular belts assembly line. There are currently 65 Habasit employees at Cordignano. This will grow to 125 when the fabrication facility operates at full load. There is also space for future growth.
The new facility is a significant long-term investment in increased productivity and improved quality that will enhance the provision of tailor-made solutions for Habasit's customers. "We thank Giovanni Volpi, Chairman of Habasit AG, whose visionary guidance, superb foresight and continuous support have made possible this unique technology and fabrication center at Cordignano," said Habegger. "The new fabrication facility is an outstanding example of Habasit's commitment to the principles of sustainable development, and shows our dedication to delivering products and solutions of the highest quality to our customers using advanced technology and continuous innovation."
