Agristo Expands Factory in Bijnor

Over the last three years, Agristo Masa Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Agristo and Masa Global, has had a major influence on Western Uttar Pradesh’s agriculture industry. Local farmers’ incomes have significantly increased as a result of the Bijnor facility.
In addition to the 500 farmers who currently receive a steady income from the facility, a new investment of EUR80m will further develop the industry and benefit an additional 2,500 farmers.
Potato yields in the area have almost doubled since its introduction in July 2022, rising from 17 tons per hectare to 32 tons per hectare, which is among the greatest in India. The factory supplies export markets in North America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Japan in addition to the Indian market. A plant for producing potato flakes formerly cost EUR40m. A cutting-edge production line for frozen potato products will be erected with this new EUR80m investment, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued expansion.
“The factory in Bijnor demonstrates that we can achieve great results by combining vision and technical expertise. Our collaboration with Masa Global Food allows us to contribute to the rapidly growing Indian agriculture and food processing sector, benefiting all stakeholders involved. We are also collaborating with other Belgian companies such as Vyncke (through their Indian branch Forbes Vyncke) and AVR, specialists in harvesting machinery,” Kristof Wallays, Director of International Expansion, Innovation, and Sustainability at Agristo, mentioned.
“Flanders is known for groundbreaking innovations, and this factory in India is a great example of that. With Flemish technology, we are building the future here. This investment not only strengthens the Indian economy but also fosters new innovations and closer cooperation with local farmers,” said Matthias Diependaele, The Minister-President of the Flemish Government, Matthias emphasizing how the factory symbolizes the strong economic ties between Flanders and India.
