FPS Food Process Solutions Buys Charlottetown Metal Products
FPS Food Process Solutions (FPS) has announced it has acquired majority control in equipment producer, Charlottetown Metal Products (CMP).
Headquartered in Vancouver BC, FPS is led by President Jeffrey Chang. The company also has offices in southeastern US, Brazil, China and the Netherlands. The new acquisition will allow FPS to expand its operations on the Canadian east coast, notes the press release.
Founded in 1957 in Prince Edward Island, CMP focuses on equipment for the food-processing industry including the potato processing industry. The firm has a staff of 80 employees.
“With a shared focus for hygienic design, CMP is a timely and strategic fit that will add to our capabilities in diversifying product line offerings. The acquisition accelerates our expansion in North America, as part of our global growth,” said Chang.
FPS revealed it has plans to double CMP’s facility, staff and revenue in the next 3 years.
“We are excited to join FPS and look forward to serving our clients as a combined force. FPS holds a powerful commitment to innovation and hygienic design which will enable CMP to increase our value to our clients and grow our business as we collectively work to deliver best in class sanitary processing equipment to the industry,” said Trevor Spinney, current president of CMP. “Our Eastern Canadian location offers close proximity to clients along the eastern seaboard of Canada and the United States for FPS. We are looking forward to contributing to the continued growth and business success of FPS.”
