Karmark Adopts EUROPLANT Scandinavia Name Ahead of New Potato Season

As part of its ongoing international restructuring, EUROPLANT Group will rename Karmark Int. A/S to EUROPLANT Scandinavia ApS at the start of the 2026/2027 potato season, aligning its Scandinavian operations more closely with the group’s global brand strategy.
The rebranding is intended to create a unified identity across EUROPLANT’s breeding and sales activities while maintaining continuity for customers throughout the region. According to the company, existing customer contacts, local operations and the experienced Scandinavian team will remain unchanged.
“By changing our name to EUROPLANT Scandinavia, we are creating a clear connection to the EUROPLANT Group whilst strengthening our position in the Scandinavian market,” said Timo Peters.
Peters added that the business is well positioned to support future market requirements with established potato varieties including EMILIANA, VINDIKA, MELISSA and CORINNA for the table potato segment. In processing potatoes, he said the company’s varieties EUROPURA, ISLARA, SARATOGA RUSSET and THEDA are also showing promising results.
“With our already proven young varieties, including EMILIANA, VINDIKA, MELISSA and CORINNA, we have a solid foundation on which to meet future requirements. Not only in the table potato segment, but also in processing potatoes, our varieties EUROPURA, ISLARA, SARATOGA RUSSET and THEDA are delivering promising results,” Peters said.
EUROPLANT Scandinavia said it will continue to work closely with the group’s breeding and sales organisations to develop and supply potato varieties adapted to the needs of the Scandinavian market. The company said its breeding focus will continue to emphasise yield reliability, quality, sustainability and resilience to changing climatic conditions.
