Kiremko, Idaho Steel and Reyco have completed the acquisition of Tummers Group and Van der Giessen, creating a larger potato processing equipment group with combined annual revenues of approximately €400 million and operations spanning Europe, North America and South Asia.

The transaction brings together companies with complementary expertise across the potato processing value chain. The acquiring group, which is backed by an independently managed investment company affiliated with Investindustrial, said the combination strengthens its position in both french fry and potato flake processing while expanding its engineering, installation and service capabilities.

The existing group consists of Kiremko in the Netherlands and US-based Idaho Steel and Reyco, companies that have established strong positions in french fry, formed potato, frozen potato and potato processing applications. Tummers Group adds expertise in turnkey potato flake production lines, drum drying technology and industrial processing solutions, while Van der Giessen contributes capabilities in equipment installation, conveyor and pump systems, piping systems and on-site project services.

According to the companies, the enlarged group will be able to offer a broader portfolio of technologies and services while increasing investments in automation, digital technologies and customer support. The combined organisation will also focus on developing recovery solutions for water, waste heat and steam, aimed at improving resource efficiency and reducing energy consumption for processors.

The companies said the transaction will strengthen their ability to serve customers across Europe, North America and Asia through enhanced technical expertise, expanded service capabilities and increased local responsiveness.

Lennaert van Dijk, CEO of Tummers Group, and Erwin Tummers, owner of Tummers Group, said the combination creates new opportunities while preserving the strengths of the existing businesses.

The group stated that Kiremko, Idaho Steel, Reyco, Tummers and Van der Giessen will continue to operate as specialist brands, maintaining their respective market positions, technical expertise and customer relationships. A new corporate name for the enlarged organisation is expected to be announced at a later date.

Prior to the acquisition, the Kiremko-Idaho Steel-Reyco group served more than 300 customers in over 50 countries and employed more than 450 people across manufacturing facilities in the Netherlands and the United States, supported by sales and service operations in markets including India and China.
