Polysense Establishes Chicago Hub for US and Canadian Food Processors

Polysense has opened its first US office in Chicago, establishing a local base to support food manufacturers across the United States and Canada, including potato processors.
The Belgian technology company said the move follows its USD10.7m seed funding round completed in July 2026 and forms part of its international expansion. Polysense already has deployments in Europe, the US and the Middle East, while its technology is used across the potato, bakery and fruit and vegetable processing industries.
Polysense develops AI-based quality control and process optimisation systems for food production lines. In potato processing, its technology can be used for applications including intake inspection and the monitoring and adjustment of peeling, cutting and sorting processes.
“Food manufacturing is global, and we are focused on the biggest companies in the industry. Being close to our customers matters: it means we can see what’s happening on their lines and help them act on it immediately, not from another continent. Opening in Chicago lets us do that in the US, and it’s the natural next step after this funding round,” said Yarne De Munck, CEO and co-founder of Polysense.
Co-founder Jarne Bogaert is relocating to Chicago to lead the operation as US President of Polysense. He will be joined by Jonas Lernout as pre-sales engineer, with the company planning to expand the local team as its North American business develops.
During the next six to twelve months, Polysense said the Chicago operation will focus on expanding its US and Canadian customer base, developing its sales and delivery model and establishing the operational link between customers in North America and the company’s delivery team in Belgium.
The Chicago office becomes Polysense’s second operating base alongside its headquarters in Ghent, Belgium.
