Scotts Precision Manufacturing Expands With 600sqm Facility To Strengthen Multi-Crop Focus

Scotts Precision Manufacturing is investing in a new 600sqm logistics and assembly facility, with completion scheduled for summer 2026, as the UK-based equipment specialist positions itself for sustained growth across multiple crop sectors.
The purpose-built building will house dedicated parts reception and expanded stores, alongside final assembly operations. The company said the additional space is designed to support a steadily growing product portfolio and to improve operational efficiency across the site.
While Scotts’ core business remains focused on pre-cleaning and de-soiling equipment for the potato sector, the manufacturer has in recent years extended its expertise into orchard fruit, peppers and other crops. The move has opened opportunities in new markets and geographies, increasing the complexity and volume of projects handled by the business.
By consolidating logistics and assembly functions within the new facility, Scotts aims to strengthen its ability to manage a broader and more diverse project mix. The redesigned layout is expected to improve the flow of materials, components and finished machines across the site, enhance yard access and support more streamlined stock management and assembly processes.
According to the company, the additional capacity will contribute to shorter lead times and greater responsiveness to customer demand, while maintaining established quality and service standards.
Derek Scott, Managing Director of Scotts Precision Manufacturing, said the investment reflects the company’s long-term approach.
“As a family business, we always invest with the long term in mind. This new facility will allow us to expand our capabilities, improve efficiency and support a wider range of customers. Lack of space has always been a thorn in our side. Despite our best efforts to be as efficient and tidy as possible, the 600sqm will be a game changer for our business, and allows us to grow unrestricted for many years to come.”
The project marks a further step in the development of the business as it broadens its footprint beyond its traditional potato base and aligns its infrastructure with a more diversified equipment portfolio.
