Christina Freier Appointed Director Of FRUIT LOGISTICA

Christina Freier has taken over as Director of FRUIT LOGISTICA, with Messe Berlin appointing the experienced trade fair manager to lead the continued development of the global fresh produce event.
Freier assumed the role on 1 June 2026, succeeding Alexander Stein. She brings more than two decades of experience at Messe Berlin, having joined the company in 2006 and worked on a range of international event formats.
Most recently, Freier served as Senior Project Manager, where she was responsible for the strategic development of the new B2B brand ITB Americas. Since February 2026, she had been serving as Interim Director of FRUIT LOGISTICA.
In her new position, Freier will focus on strengthening FRUIT LOGISTICA’s role as a global platform for the fresh produce industry. Messe Berlin said her priorities will include supporting innovation, creating targeted networking opportunities between exhibitors and buyers, and expanding the event’s congress programme as a knowledge-sharing platform for the sector.
“FRUIT LOGISTICA brings together companies from across the global fresh produce industry like no other event. We will further strengthen this position and continue to develop the trade fair as the leading platform for business, innovation and knowledge exchange,” said Christina Freier, Director of FRUIT LOGISTICA.
Mario Tobias, Chairman of the Management Board of Messe Berlin, said the appointment represented an important step for the event’s future development.
“Christina Freier has an in-depth understanding of Messe Berlin, our customers and international markets. With her extensive experience, forward-looking mindset and keen sense for emerging industry trends, she is ideally positioned to drive the continued success of FRUIT LOGISTICA,” Tobias said.
FRUIT LOGISTICA covers the fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain from seed to sale. The 2026 edition brought together around 2,600 exhibitors from approximately 90 countries and attracted around 90,000 participants from 151 countries.
The Berlin event is also part of a wider year-round network that includes ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA, regional meet-ups in China, Thailand and Peru, and Fruitnet congresses worldwide. According to the organisers, this network brings together more than 3,600 exhibitors and over 120,000 industry professionals annually.
