Urschel Targets Processing Efficiency With New Dicer at Barcelona Show

Urschel will showcase its Little Gem Aspire Dicer alongside other precision cutting equipment at Alimentaria FoodTech, taking place from October 6-8, 2026, at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue.
The new Little Gem Aspire is designed for fruit and vegetable processing and is capable of handling potatoes, with Urschel listing a 12 mm potato dice among the machine’s applications.
The compact dicer uses the company’s StatiCut knife assembly together with crosscut knives to produce flat slices from 2 mm to 20 mm as well as strips and dices. According to Urschel, the StatiCut knife range begins at 5 mm, while crosscut sizes extend up to 20 mm. Knives can also be removed to increase cut width or create different cutting patterns.
The machine was developed by Urschel’s Innovation & Development team as a new interpretation of the company’s original Little Gem dicer. The system replaces a conventional circular knife assembly with the StatiCut configuration, which is designed to allow processors to change cut sizes while limiting the number of parts that need to be maintained and stocked.
Urschel will also display its M VersaPro (MVP) Dicer and Comitrol Disc Mill 380 at the Barcelona exhibition. The MVP is designed primarily for protein processing and incorporates a patented fluted crosscut option, adjustable operating speeds and an optional touchscreen HMI. The Comitrol DM 380 is intended for reducing whole or split nuts into nut butters and pastes, with final texture controlled through adjustment of the gap between its disc plates.
For potato processors visiting the event, the Little Gem Aspire represents the most directly applicable equipment among the three systems being demonstrated, particularly for operations requiring diced potato products and other precision vegetable cuts.
Urschel will exhibit at Stand E280 during Alimentaria FoodTech 2026.
