The majority of exhibitors at this year’s trade show Fruit Logistica, organized in Berlin this February 7-9, say the event was a good business opportunity. Among them, manufacturers of equipment for processing and storage of potato products, whose voices are featured in this article.

More than 3,100 exhibitors from over 80 countries presented a comprehensive market overview, according to the data provided by organizers. The event’s Global Brand Manager Will Wollbold said "Fruit Logistica underlines its status as the leading trade fair for the global fresh produce trade. We had the privilege of welcoming over 77,000 trade visitors – more than ever before. We were particularly delighted to see the large number of trade visitors at the management level. Business results ranged from good to excellent."

In their own words

Some of the most important names in equipment manufacturing and storage of potato products attended Fruit Logistica and talked exclusively to us, in order to convey their thoughts on the event. Below are some of their testimonials:

“FruitLogistica is always a very important exhibition for us. Urschel displayed quite a number of machines at the show including our new Affinity Integra. We were pleased with the amount of interest that was generated, and felt the quality of leads received was very positive. With this being a year for Anuga and FruitLogistica, we feel many people were deciding which show to go to, and overall numbers seemed down for FruitLogistica. However, last year Urschel had a record number of leads from FruitLogistica. We think it is a very well-run exhibition overall, and look forward to future participation,” Alan Major, Urschel

“Like previous years, also this edition of the Fruit Logistica has proven to be successful for Kiremko and our partners, Tolsma-Grisnich and Packo, with whom we shared our stand. Where most companies mainly focus on delivery of equiment, Kiremko presents themselves as being THE strategic partner for companies that take potato processing really seriously. As such, the combination of 50+ years of experience, delivery of reliable and durable equipment combined with our supporting services (consultancy, engineering, project management, after sales support) proves to be a winning formula at each fair,” Twan van den Berg, Kiremko.

“For Tolsma-Grisnich Fruitlogistica is the place to meet packing and processing companies and discuss together on their business and operations for the coming year. As we are always interesting to expand our business we are very happy that about 50% of the people we meet on the stand are new leads from all over the world. Fruitlogistica has been for many years the place where the international packaging and processing companies meet. We did meet many new people with promising plans to invest in storage and processing all over the world as every year,” – Jan van Maldegem, Tolsma-Grisnich.

“This edition of the FruitLogistica was very positive for Sormac. We launched a renewed centrifuge drying system for vegetables and the comments we received were very positive. Sormac has no special expectations, this show is for Sormac the showroom with all main equipment to exhibit to the worldwide audience. We would like to show everybody our vegetable processing equipment, and that every kind of customer can come with their special questions to Sormac so that we can try to find a suitable solution for their product. We would like be the leading supplier in vegetable processing equipment. Moreover, we feel that the customers visiting our booth are already familiar with our equipment, and this helps to build a strong relationship with the clients,” – Kim Suntjens-Beeks,  Sormac.
