Majans Case Packing Operations Automation Thanks to TNA Ropac 5 Technology

Majans used the all-new tna ropac 5 technology to automate its case packing operations, building on its existing relationship with TNA Solutions.
With the smallest footprint and fastest case packing system available today, it can fill 200 bags per minute and is equipped with a bag conditioner, case packer, case erector, and checkweigher. Its deployment has contributed to an amazing 140% increase in throughput in just a year.
Having been founded in 1984, Majans manufactures more than 2m cases of snacks annually encompassing 53 different products. The company needs a reliable partner to help boost throughput and reliability, improve up-time, and reduce risk because it has big expansion aspirations and must manage unstable supply chains and a competitive labor market. When Kam Raniga, the owner of Majans, chose TNA solutions to assist future-proof operations, Manufacturing Manager Andrew McManus, who had already seen them in action during his time at Mars, felt reassured.
“I’d seen TNA baggers working perfectly after 40 years of service, and I knew we were on track when we decided to partner with TNA at Majans. With a TNA flavoring system and tna robag baggers already in place, we knew we would benefit from the interchangeable aspects of a TNA solution for case packing – particularly from an electronics perspective, and also the consistency of the HMI interface for our technicians. Introducing tna ropac 5 systems has enabled us to improve operational efficiency, redistribute manpower, and future-proof our operations as we look to continue our growth path,” the company’s representative mentioned.
Majans presently utilizes about 70% of the 200 bags per minute TNA ropac capability, but by collaborating with TNA solutions, the business has made sure that future growth has been carefully considered. Uptime has increased by 15% and throughput performance has increased by 140% since its launch in February 2023. The company’s intentions to switch to paper-based packaging in 2024 can also be supported by the tna ropac 5, which will promote its sustainable development goals without affecting production rates.
“Just five years ago, Majans regularly had between 28 and 35 people on a single shift, bagging, mixing, and case packing. Today, with the help of TNA solutions, that same factory operates with just 10-11 people per shift at outputs up to 6.9 times greater than before the automation process began. Casual jobs have been transformed into stable, full-time employment contracts, and technicians and maintenance crews have also been upskilled to effectively service and support these systems at a higher technology level,” McManus added.
Speaking about the strategic partnership between the two companies, Thiago Roriz, Chief Operating Officer at TNA Solutions said that, in recent years, his company has further strengthened its market leadership through sustained innovations, delivering true business value to its valued customers, such as Majans.
“We are extremely grateful to Majans for choosing us as their trusted partner, to support their goals as they focus on their expansion strategy,” Roriz mentioned.
“If you would like to speak with TNA snack experts, please visit the company’s stands 242 and 341 at the SnackEx show from 19-20 June in Stockholm, Sweden,” the company experts concluded.
