Manter Launches the Punnet Filler

The brand-new Punnet Filler is the latest addition to Manter’s portfolio, which specializes in weighing and packing solutions. In particular, the growing demand for sustainable punnet packaging is being met by this very user-friendly automatic packaging machine.
The most recent Punnet Filler, as its name implies, is made especially for the effective packing of punnets. The machine can also be modified to work with clamshells. The most recent M14i D was also introduced earlier this month.
Punnet Filler
A new benchmark in automated packaging filling is set by Manter’s most recent Punnet Filler. This automated device fills and moves two trays at once, reaching a rate of 44 trays per minute. This makes the Punnet Filler especially appropriate for businesses that want to increase production efficiency without sacrificing quality. Additionally, the product stays in ideal condition because the filling station glides downward during the filling operation, minimizing the product’s drop height.
“The machine can be configured for both (paper) punnets and (plastic) clamshells. Depending on the selected application, a clamshell closing unit may be mounted on the machine. When the Punnet Filler is equipped with a clamshell closing unit, this unit is adjustable and can be easily adapted to various sizes of punnets or clamshells. This applies to both the front-closure and corner-closure designs of clamshells. To accommodate clamshells of any size, an ingenious roller system is used, which can be easily adjusted to fit any clamshell format, minimizing changeover times,” a recent company announcement reveals.

Although the trays can be manually positioned on the conveyor belt, an automatic destacker can also be readily integrated into the system. This makes it possible to completely automate the packing process. The trays consistently line up correctly on the belt because of the two-plane guidance mechanism. Because the materials were carefully chosen, the machine is also easier to use with a touchscreen and requires less maintenance.
“The various improvements were made by listening to feedback from our customers, to further optimize ease of use,” mechanical engineer, Albert Veldhuis, declared.
Punnet Filler +
Manter is also releasing a “+” version of the Punnet Filler. The kind of conveyor belt that moves the trays forward distinguishes these two versions from one another. A belt with flights is used in the conventional version, which necessitates a fixed spacing for tray supply. “Stoppers” on the flat belt of the Punnet Filler+ guarantee that the trays remain in the proper position for filling or shutting. This makes it possible for the Punnet Filler+ to manage an irregular tray supply.
“These machines are fully constructed in stainless steel and have an IP rating of 65, making them suitable for use in food production environments,” Veldhuis concluded.
Additionally, both machines seamlessly integrate with an IMA Record Flow Wrapper or a Top Sealer, which are also part of Manter’s product portfolio.
