Elea Technology will invite potato chip and French fry producers to experience its latest process intelligence solutions during PEF Advantage Day 2026, taking place on September 9 at the company’s headquarters in Quakenbrück, Germany.

Held under the theme “Smart PEF Solutions with Elea’s PiCon Tools,” the event will provide practical insights into how advanced monitoring, artificial intelligence and resource analysis can support further optimization of Pulsed Electric Field applications.

PEF technology is already used by food processors to improve product quality, increase yields and enhance production efficiency. Through its PiCon portfolio, Elea is adding a further layer of process intelligence intended to give operators greater transparency across PEF-enabled production.

The tools provide real-time information about operating conditions, helping processors monitor performance, detect deviations and respond more quickly to production changes. Elea said this can support stable processing conditions, more consistent product quality and reduced waste.

The PiCon portfolio currently comprises three solutions. PiCon Sense uses acoustic and vibration analysis to monitor cutting performance, while PiCon Vision applies AI-powered camera technology to visual production-line monitoring. PiCon Flow is designed to track resource consumption, including energy, water and oil.

A live processing demonstration will form a central part of the PEF Advantage Day programme.

Participants will see PiCon Sense, which is nearing industrial implementation, analyse acoustic and vibration signals generated during cutting. Using artificial intelligence, the system provides real-time process insights intended to support continuous monitoring, rapid adjustments and consistent product quality.

The demonstration will also feature PiCon Vision, which is currently under development. The solution combines advanced camera technology with AI-based analysis to monitor belt loading as well as dirt and foam formation. Elea said the system can help processors optimize capacity utilization, reduce energy consumption and improve overall production efficiency.

Beyond the demonstrations, the event will include presentations from Elea’s PEF specialists, discussions around the latest PiCon developments and opportunities for processors to exchange practical experience with other PEF users.

The programme will focus on how data-driven process intelligence can support greater production consistency, operational efficiency and sustainability. By providing more accurate information about process parameters and resource use, the PiCon tools are designed to help processors make better-informed production decisions.

Participation in PEF Advantage Day is free of charge, although advance registration is required.

Elea will also offer two additional product-testing appointments on September 10. Participants will be able to test PEF technology using their own raw materials in a controlled environment. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

A shuttle service between Osnabrück Central Station and Elea’s headquarters will be available upon request during registration.
