McCain Foods USA, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of frozen potato products, is considering building a facility in Caldwell, Idaho, USA, and bringing as many as 544 jobs to the area.

 

The Idaho State Board of Education (ISBOE) will consider authorizing the planning and design of a roughly 11,000sqf, USD5m potato facility at the University of Idaho today, said Mark McGuire, Idaho Agricultural Experiment Station director and College of Agricultural and Life Sciences associate dean of research, according to dnews.com.

 

Albert Bartlett, the UK’s leading supplier of fresh potatoes, is to launch chilled potato products with major UK retailers and food service customers.

 

PepsiCo is looking at Zimbabwe, Zambia or Botswana to set up a snack plant. 

 

British chips manufacturer Kettle Foods is to invest GBP2.7m at its Norwich site in the UK to develop a new potato intake building.
