Aviko Launches British-grown Handmade Potato Skins
Aviko has introduced a new product for the UK and Irish foodservice market. The ¼ and ½ Potato Skins are made from British-grown baking potatoes, which are very well-suited for skins due to their high natural sugar content.
According to the producing company the Potato Skins are ideal for starters, launch, sharing options, as well as snacking. Moreover, they take only 18 minutes to get ready in the over or 3.5 minutes in the fryer.
The launch comes as demand for plant-based meal options are said to be on the rise. Aviko notes that 33.5% of the UK population are cutting down or cutting out meat. To this end, the new Potato Skins are suited for vegans, vegetarians and gluten intolerant customers.
The product has a shelf life of 182 days @ -180 C and comes in cases containing five bags each of 2.1kg.
