UK frozen food distributor Central Foods has partnered with Saxon Foods to add a range of frozen ready-baked jacket potatoes to its foodservice portfolio.

The range comprises Small, Standard, Large and XL Ready Baked Jacket Potatoes and is being offered to wholesalers serving customers including schools, hospitals, universities, cafés, garden centers and workplace catering operations.

The potatoes can be prepared from frozen in either a microwave or oven. Central Foods said the format is intended to reduce preparation requirements and food waste while providing consistent portions for commercial kitchens.

Saxon Foods has been producing potatoes in Lincolnshire for more than 30 years. The manufacturer sources British potatoes from growers in Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and East Anglia and also produces potato skins, Hasselback potatoes, mini roasts and baked chips.

The company operates a meat- and allergen-free manufacturing site in North Lincolnshire and holds BRCGS AA+ certification.

Central Foods said it is seeing renewed interest in loaded jacket potatoes in UK foodservice, where the product can be used across dine-in and grab-and-go menus with different fillings and toppings.

The products will be distributed through Central Foods’ mixed-pallet consolidation model, which allows wholesale customers to combine products rather than ordering full pallets of individual lines.

The Saxon Foods ready-baked jacket potato range is now available to UK wholesalers through Central Foods.
