Lamb Weston Targets Fryer-Free Foodservice With New Potato Formats

Lamb Weston will introduce three of its latest potato products to the Philippine market at World Food Expo (WOFEX) 2026, targeting foodservice and airline operators seeking to reduce kitchen space, equipment and preparation requirements.
The frozen potato products supplier will present Snap Fries, Frenzy Fries and Original Mash Cup at the SMX Convention Center in Manila from July 29 to August 1. The products are intended to support operations ranging from airline catering and quick-service restaurants to cafés, kiosks and satellite kitchens.
Snap Fries are pre-portioned fries developed for preparation without a deep fryer. The product can be cooked in airline, combi and impinger ovens, as well as air fryers, allowing operators to serve fries in locations where conventional frying equipment is unavailable or impractical.
Lamb Weston said the format could help airlines add crispy fries to inflight menus while also supporting foodservice businesses operating from smaller kitchens or expanding into delivery and takeaway channels.
“In today’s environment, operators must do more with less—less space, less labour, and less time—while continuing to deliver the comforting favourites consumers expect,” said Vicky Mukhi, commercial director for South East Asia at Lamb Weston.
Frenzy Fries feature a three-sided, skin-on cut intended to provide a hand-cut appearance and greater plate coverage. The fries use Lamb Weston’s invisible Stealth coating and are designed to retain their crispness for up to 20 minutes.
According to the company, Frenzy Fries can be prepared in a deep fryer for approximately three minutes at 175°C or in an oven for between 15 and 20 minutes at 200°C. The product combines a crisp exterior with a softer potato centre and is intended to help restaurants differentiate their menus without adding further preparation stages.
The third product, Original Mash Cup, is a pre-portioned mashed potato format developed for kitchens with limited labour, equipment, freezer space or preparation time.
The ambient-stable product has a stated shelf life of 12 months and can be prepared by removing the seal, adding 135ml of hot water and stirring. Lamb Weston said the mash is ready in around 10 seconds and can be served as a side dish or combined with sauces, toppings and proteins as a customised snack or meal component.
The company is positioning the three products as ways for operators to expand potato-based menus while reducing dependence on conventional kitchen infrastructure. Visitors will be able to sample the products at Lamb Weston’s stand, located at booth 1201 on the first floor of the SMX Convention Center.
WOFEX Manila 2026 will run simultaneously at the SMX Convention Center and World Trade Center Manila.
