McCain’s New Home Chips Contain 30% Less Fat

As the UK is seeing a rise in demand for healthful food stuffs, potato giant, McCain has introduced a lighter version of its Home Chips.
The new product, which contains 30% less fat, took three years to develop. The company says these are the first “lighter” home chips to make it on the UK market.
McCain’s new chips are already available for purchase, with a price of GPB1.95. The product is sold frozen and takes 22-24 minutes to bake in the oven before serving.
With more and more customers being on the lookout for lighter options to complement a more balanced diet, food makers are racing to increase their portfolio of products which contain less fat. Recently frozen food retailer Iceland has started selling the new Slimming Word chunk chips.
