Simplot Plant Sciences, the company that developed the Innate potato, decided that GMO potatoes will not be commercially grown on Prince Edward Island, Canada, this year.

Maine Board of Pesticides Control has unanimously approved the registration of three new types of genetically engineered potatoes that have been developed by a major Idaho agribusiness company.

 

AHDB Potatoes has launched a new website to help combat the industry’s most threatening disease, the late blight, caused by the pathogen Phytophthora infestans.

 

Anne Njoroge, a molecular pathologist working at the International Potato Center (CIP) in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), based in Nairobi, Kenya, uses molecular techniques to study organisms and environmental conditions that cause diseases in plants, her current focus being on potato.
