Developing Tailor Made Warehouses at CeMAT Stands

International system integrator viastore systems will be presenting at the world’s leading intralogistics trade show CeMAT 2014 their tailor-made storage solutions in Hannover this May 19-23.
At the viastore stand H29 in Hall 27, visitors can design their own individual warehouse or distribution center using a tablet. This is possible thanks to the new “viastore Warehouse Designer” app that the company will be introducing at CeMAT. Visitors can enter in basic information such as product size, article variety or delivery quantity. Based on this data, the “viastore Warehouse Designer” will generate a suitable intralogistics system that is displayed to the user in an animated 3-D representation.
Ingralogistics. Tailor-made
“While this app doesn’t solve all the questions to do with a warehouse design, it gives the visitors the opportunity to explore what could be possible,” says Philipp Hahn-Woernle, CEO of viastore systems.
“Users will be able to see what an initial system design or a preliminary selection of technical equipment and software might look like. From there, the dialogue and analysis with our customers can begin. It is a great starting point.”
The app includes both automated warehousing systems with automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) or shuttles, and conventional, software-driven storage solutions. It is to be made available online after the trade show. The names of CeMAT visitors who design their own individual warehouse using this app will be entered into a prize draw for a tailor made suit worth EUR1,000.
“The main issue for storing food products like potatoes is that they are usually stored in large size containers in dark and temperature controlled automated warehouses. It would be the best to have it also controlled by software to be sure about best before end, use by dates etc., and all these issues are incorporated in the app”, explained Dr. Matthias Schweizer from viastore.
