A potato producer has applied for permission to build a 2,304 ton seed potato store on a farm in Marsham.

 

A research team recently launched a pilot project to investigate the potential of using the deepest metal mine in Europe, located in the Finnish town Pyhäjärvi, in a site for sustainable crop development, according to duurzaambedrijfsleven.nl. 

 

Prince Edwards Island's major potato processor Cavendish Farms is constructing two new buildings to store its potatoes. 

 

The Commonwealth Potato Collection (CPC), an invaluable repository of potato germplasm held in trust by the James Hutton Institute with support from the Scottish Government, is set to make the first deposit of plant genetic material by a UK institution into the Global Seed Vault. The deposit is built in accordance with the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture and the Convention on Biological Diversity.
