Chrome River Technologies, Inc., a global leader in expense and supplier invoice processing software, announces that Edmonton-based The Little Potato Company will deploy the company’s cloud-based spend management solutions throughout its Canadian and U.S. operations.

The Little Potato Company, which sells proprietary Creamer potatoes in supermarket chains across North America, will implement Chrome River INVOICE to automatically process paper and electronic invoices from more than 1,600 farmers and suppliers, streamlining approvals and providing its VP of Finance and IT with deep, timely, visibility into the accounts payable process. In addition, the company will deploy Chrome River EXPENSE across its business units, enabling its travelers to easily submit expenses on their mobile devices.

“As The Little Potato Company has continued to grow, we’ve reached the point where manual invoice approval and expense management processes simply can’t keep up, so we made a strategic decision to implement a solution which can both ease the life of our rapidly-increasing number of remote and traveling employees, and reduce the burden on our finance team,” said Matthew Havertape, VP Finance and IT at The Little Potato Company. “Given that our team’s travel can often take them to remote farms, we needed a solution that our team can use to both capture receipts and submit expenses from anywhere, on any mobile device. For our internal finance team, the ability to process both expenses reimbursements and supplier invoices from a single interface is a very powerful user-friendly benefit.”

“The Little Potato Company is part of a growing trend of companies that have outlived their paper-based processes, and need automated expense and accounts payable solutions that can scale with them as they grow,” said Greg Allworth, sales director, Canada at Chrome River. “Chrome River can be easily deployed and used across the organization without the need for major internal IT resources, which is perfect for fast growing companies of this size. In addition, knowing that business processes can often evolve as companies expand, Chrome River’s agility enables configurations changes to be easily made at any stage.”
