Potatoes USA Hosts Webinar with American College of Sports Nutrition

A key strategy for the Potatoes USA nutrition program is to communicate the benefits of potatoes for athletic performance to influencers, including personal trainers, sports dietitians, coaches and those working in a professional capacity as related to sports and nutrition.
Potatoes USA has partnered with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the largest sports medicine and exercise science organization in the world, representing 50,000 members and certified professionals.
The organizers of the seminar explain that there is increasing interest in low-carbohydrate, ketogenic diets for improving health, fitness and athletic performance.
“Anecdotal evidence and case reports describe weight loss and athletic successes as a result of eliminating or severely restricting dietary carbohydrates. But, are these successes because of low-carb diets or in spite of them? This session will describe the most recent research surrounding low-carbohydrate, ketogenic diets and their impact on health, fitness and athletic performance. In addition, scientifically supported recommendations for carbohydrate intake to promote optimal health and performance will be presented,” the organizers say.
