McDonald’s France to Replace the Potato French Fries With Other Vegetables

Beginning March 7, McDonald’s will serve carrot, parsnip, and beetroot fries in place of the popular potato fries.
The announcement, made public by Le Parisien and confirmed by Le Figaro, will be the topic of a public relations campaign in the coming days.
Around 1,500 tons of carrots, 1,000 tons of red beets, and 700 tons of parsnips will be distributed to France’s 1,500 restaurants.
For now, it’s a “temporary replacement of the time to carry out this special operation” and thus to test the rating of this accompaniment with consumers. The operation will last for “3 to 4 weeks”, and “everything will depend on the consumption”. For fast food, the objective is to meet the “new consumer needs” and the will of consumers to “diversify their diet”.
