German Potato Farmers Can Now Use RootDei Biocontrol Against Rhizoctonia Solani

In an effort to manage Rhizoctonia solani in potato farming, the biotech business Biocontrol Technologies has announced the release of RootDei Biocontrol. More than two years after the authorization application was filed, the corporation rejoices over receiving authorization in Germany.
RootDei Biocontrol is an innocuous and effective product tailored for extensive crops, with particular emphasis on potatoes.
“Rhizoctonia solani poses a significant threat to potato crops, resulting in considerable damage to tuber production and quality. With the approval of Application Number: 00A933-00/00-001 by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (Bundesamt für Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit, BVL), RootDei Biocontrol will be introduced to the market in the country, providing a promising and sustainable solution for German farmers. […],” according to a recent press release.
The introduction of RootDei Biocontrol highlights how important it is to create safe inputs that provide practical and environmentally friendly ways to safeguard the potato crop. Biocontrol Technologies plans to deliver product samples in 2024 as a part of its pre-launch activities.
The company is now seeking authorization in Belgium and the Netherlands. If Germany grants its request, Biocontrol Technologies will then go forward with requesting mutual recognition in Poland, Austria, Hungary, and Romania.
