Optimum Sorting Reports €40 Million Revenue In 2025 On Strong International Growth

Optimum Sorting has reported revenues of €40 million for 2025, marking a 38% increase compared with the previous year and underscoring the company’s continued international expansion. The optical sorting specialist, which operates from offices in Hasselt (Belgium), Eindhoven (the Netherlands) and Denver (United States), said the result reflects growing demand for its technology across both food and non-food applications.
The company closed 2025 with operations in 50 countries and a customer base of around 350, primarily within the food industry. Recent installations have focused on advanced optical sorting solutions for potato-based products such as chips and fries, as well as vegetables including onions, green beans and carrots. According to the company, these projects have been a key driver of volume growth during the year.
Innovation remained central to Optimum Sorting’s strategy in 2025. Building on its patented UV LIF technology, the company entered the mining sector for the first time, enabling the detection and sorting of spodumene, a raw material used in lithium production. At the same time, expansion within food processing continued, supported by increasing installations of the Magnus sorter, which is designed for handling delicate fruit products.
As Tybo Mollet, CEO of Optimum Sorting, stated: “Optimum Sorting’s growth in 2025 was no coincidence. It was driven by continuous innovation and a relentless focus on our customers’ needs. We launched breakthrough applications that opened new markets, from advanced solutions for the mining industry to technologies that enable the sorting of even the most delicate products. This year, we also reached a major milestone: the installation of our 900th machine. This achievement not only validates our expertise but also reinforces our commitment to delivering top quality worldwide.”
To support further growth, Optimum Sorting is investing in people and infrastructure. The company’s Dutch operation will relocate to a larger, modern facility in Veldhoven in the summer of 2026, aimed at increasing production capacity. In the United States, one of its test and demonstration centers will move from Turlock to Sacramento, strengthening the company’s presence in California’s nut and vegetable processing sector.
“Our growth isn’t just driven by technology; it’s powered by people,” Mollet said. “In 2025, our team expanded from 91 to 118 colleagues, and this is only the beginning. In 2026, we have exciting plans to further strengthen our teams in Belgium, the Netherlands, Thailand, and the United States with top talent in engineering, service, and logistics. Together, we will continue to build reliable and cutting-edge sorting solutions for our customers, with the ambition to reach new heights in the years ahead.”
Founded in 2017, Optimum Sorting develops and builds optical sorting systems in-house for a wide range of applications, from fresh and frozen foods to pet food, confectionery and minerals. The company positions its technology around efficiency gains and waste reduction, supported by in-house development, artificial intelligence and collaborations with universities and research institutions.
