Lutosa Adds New Fry Line at Plant in Belgium

In a recent presentation to employees and suppliers in the plant in Leuze-en-Hainaut (Belgium), Erwin Wuyts, managing director at Lutosa (McCain owned) announced the installing of a new frying line, according to nordeclair.be.
In a few weeks, the construction of the new line will begin and it should be operational from the beginning of 2018. The investment will mean that more than 180,000 tons of Fries will be produced on the site.
The future of the Leuze potato will be positive, as explained Wuyts: “In 2016, 750,000 tons of potatoes were processed into 425,000 tons of frozen and chilled French fries, frozen specialties and dehydrated potatoes. Not to mention that Lutosa is distinguished by a strong brand, a commercial approach based on proximity, state-of-the-art technology and a very diverse range of products manufactured to the highest standards of quality and hygiene”.
He added that during this year, 73 new employees will be hired at the site in Leuze-en-Hainaut, mentioning that in 2016, demand exceeded production for 2017, “so producing will be the key word”.
