Savoursmiths Brings its Luxury Potato Chips to the U.S.
UK-based potato chips maker Savoursmiths has quickly expanded its footprint in the U.S. just six months after it started selling the first pack across the pond, writes Business Weekly. Now the company’s products are available in 1,000 stores across the country.
The Duxford firm specializes in exotic flavors like, for example, Truffle & Rosemary. Savoursmiths was founded approximately three years ago by Mike and Colette Russel Smith.
Made from potatoes grown on their family farms, these chips are available at Harrods and Waitrose in the UK. The company expanded to the U.S. not so long ago, after spotting a demand for luxury snacks.
The Department for International Trade in the UK helped the company with trade missions, logistics, market research and identifying distributors in the country, as well as overseas. The agency is said to be looking out for further development opportunities.
Savoursmiths currently portfolio includes five flavors that feature unique packaging.
