Scotts Precision Manufacturing Marks Milestone With 1,000th Evolution Separator Sold

Scotts Precision Manufacturing has reached a significant milestone, celebrating the sale of its 1,000th Evolution Separator — a machine that has become a benchmark in crop cleaning and handling since its introduction in 2005.
The Lincolnshire-based company first launched the Evolution Separator two decades ago in response to what it saw as a need for a gentler, more efficient system for handling root crops. At the time, many growers and processors were still relying on older systems that caused crop damage and limited productivity. Scotts’ solution combined effective cleaning with careful handling, transforming crop preparation both in the field and in processing facilities.
Now in its second generation, the Evolution Separator features direct drive motors that replace the original chain drive system, offering higher performance, greater reliability, and reduced maintenance. The design improvements reflect the company’s long-term focus on continuous innovation and customer trust.
The milestone machine was recently delivered to a British grower, underlining the brand’s strong domestic presence alongside its international success. Demand for the Evolution Separator has driven Scotts’ own expansion, with the company doubling its factory space in recent years and employing around 25 staff. Further growth is already planned to meet increasing demand.
“This is more than just a number, it’s a moment that makes us pause and look back at the journey,” said Derek Scott, Managing Director of Scotts Precision Manufacturing. “When we launched the Evolution Separator in 2005, we wanted to give growers something that genuinely made their lives easier, their crops cleaner, and their businesses more efficient. To see 1,000 machines now out in the world, helping farmers and processors every day, is humbling. None of this would have been possible without the trust of our customers, who put their faith in us, and the dedication of our team here at Scotts, who pour their energy and expertise into every machine we build. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.”
The company continues to invest in the Evolution’s development, preparing new upgrades to align with evolving agricultural and food production needs. With a proven product and loyal customer base, Scotts says it intends to build on the legacy of the Evolution Separator for years to come.
