Tomasz Bieńkowski of Poland is the New World Potato Congress Inc. International Advisor
Tomasz Bieńkowski has been appointed as an International Advisor, a crucial job, by the World Potato Congress Inc.
Tomasz Bieńkowski, PhD, is an expert in plant production, namely in the breeding and seed production of potatoes and grains. He has been the owner and president of CN Nidzica, one of Poland’s biggest seed and breeding companies, since 2000. He manages a specialist commercial seed farm concurrently as a farmer.
From 2007 to 2013, Bieńkowski spearheaded numerous initiatives. In addition to serving as president and co-founder of the Polish Potato Federation, he was an expert for the seventh EU framework initiative, AGREE. He founded the first RUCIP representative office in Poland and is an active member of Europatat, serving on the seed committee and the European Committee on Rules & Practices of the Inter-European Trade in Potatoes (RUCIP).
Tomasz Bieńkowski has been involved in the international potato sector for several years. He has co-organized the Polish Potato Congress and served as commissioner of the POTATO POLAND exhibition, which is one of the most significant events in the world.
He was the driving force behind the formation of the Polish Parliamentary Team for the Development of the Potato Industry in addition to being one of the co-creators of the Polish potato program 2020–2025. His role is to advertise Polish and European agri-food goods both domestically and internationally.
Furthermore, Bieńkowski is currently a member of the Program Council of the Polish Plant Health Inspection as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Fruit and Vegetable Promotion Fund at the National Agriculture Support Center.
