Anuga 2025 Set to Break Records With 8,000 Exhibitors and Expanded Programme

Anuga 2025 will open in Cologne on 4 October as the largest edition in the trade fair’s history, with around 8,000 exhibitors from 110 countries spread across 290,000 m² of exhibition space. The five-day event, running until 8 October, is expected to draw more than 140,000 trade visitors from nearly 200 countries, with international participants accounting for 94% of attendance.
Italy, Spain, China, Germany, France, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey and the United States are among the countries with the highest number of exhibitors. In total, 174 national and regional group stands from 78 countries are confirmed. The largest pavilions—representing Istanbul, China, Italy, Spain and the US—will each cover up to 6,000 m².
“Anuga is far more than just a trade fair – it is a marketplace, a source of inspiration and a pacesetter for the global food industry. The leading minds of the industry meet up to present innovations and discuss tomorrow’s trends in Cologne. As such, the future of food becomes visible here – and at the same time negotiable,” said Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH.
Revised hall structure and new segments
This year’s fair introduces a new layout aimed at grouping related sectors more closely. The newly created Anuga Alternatives, dedicated to plant-based and cell-cultivated products, will occupy Hall 1, directly adjacent to the Fine Food halls. The Anuga Meat segment will now be consolidated across Halls 6, 7 and 9.
Anuga 2025 will again highlight product innovation, including the Anuga Trend Zone for market insights, the Anuga taste Innovation Show featuring top product launches, and a start-up showcase along the Boulevard of Innovations.
The supporting congress programme features the Halal Forum, organised with the Islamic Chamber for Halal Services; the Anuga Horizon Stage, with discussions on artificial intelligence, circular economy and sustainability; the International Frozen Food Conference with IFFN and GCCA, alongside celebrations marking 70 years of frozen food in Germany; and the Professional Food Service Forum organised by DEHOGA.
Korea named partner country
South Korea will be the official partner country of Anuga 2025, presenting under the motto Flavour meets Trends. More than 100 Korean exhibitors will showcase a mix of traditional foods—such as fermented products including kimchi, soy sauces and gochujang—and advanced technologies in alternative proteins, smart farming and digital supply chains.
The programme will also include cultural presentations, cooking demonstrations and tastings. High-level political and business delegations from Korea are expected to attend, including Miryung Song, Korea’s Minister for Agriculture, Nutrition and Rural Affairs.
“With Korea as our partner country, we have won over a food nation that connects tradition and high tech like no other. This presence will not only offer the entire industry enjoyment, but also inspiration,” Böse added.
Global reach and political attendance
In addition to Korea’s delegation, Germany’s Agriculture Minister Alois Rainer will attend, along with ambassadors from the US, Brazil, Italy and Greece.
The Anuga brand continues to expand internationally, with nine satellite events staged in markets including Brazil, China, India, Japan, Thailand, Italy and Spain. Together, Anuga’s global portfolio comprises some 16,000 exhibitors and 400,000 trade visitors annually.
Logistics and Cologne Marathon overlap
Koelnmesse has advised visitors to allow additional travel time on 5 October, when the Cologne Marathon will take place simultaneously with Anuga. Organisers recommend the use of local transport and checking the Anuga website for updates.
