British Potato 2009
British Potato 2009’s hotline and online ticket registration has gone live.
The biennial event, organised by the Potato Council and sponsored by Branston, is expected to attract around 5,000 growers, processors, retailers, researchers, specialists and consultants through its doors.
Held on November 25 and 26 at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate, it gives an opportunity to discuss important issues, meet key industry players and seek out new information.
Advanced ticket offers have been introduced to ensure potato businesses can fast-track into the popular event. Entry is £14 for the first ticket purchased. Subsequent tickets booked by the same person in a single transaction will be charged at £8 each, a saving of over 40 per cent.
“There’s a lot to get through and BP2009 is a day worth investing in to evaluate the opportunities facing your industry,” says Rob Clayton, the Potato Council’s head of communications. “The ticket deal means you can attend both days of the busy event and save.
“What’s more, booking in advance means you can fast-track yourself past the inevitable registration queues, giving you more time at the event to do business.”
A range of machinery will be on display alongside exhibitors from 120 of Europe’s leading companies.
Highlights on the Potato Council stand include the latest research-related news and developments from the country’s leading authorities at the BP2009 technical seminars, organised by Potato Council.
From a smarter approach to agronomy, through progress on major disease threats to cutting energy losses in store, these are the main issues growers face and the key areas of research that can benefit and make the job of growing potatoes more profitable.
Visitors can also enjoy the industry dinner on November 25, by making new contacts and enjoying the after-dinner speaker. The dinner costs £57.50 and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
