Potato Processing International magazine (PPI) will host a seminar on September 15, starting at 2:30 PM, during the Potato Europe event in France. The seminar will be hosted by PPI’s Managing Editor, Dan Orehov, together with keynote speaker Cedric Porter, the managing editor of World Potato Markets.

Entitled “Reshaping the World of Potato Business”, the topics on the agenda will include the impact of Brexit on the potato markets, future potato production and demand, and PPI’s upcoming event for the potato industry, taking place in Portland, USA.

“This is a great opportunity for our magazine to meet with partners and colleagues and to present our upcoming plans for next year. I am looking forward to hosting the PPI seminar at Potato Europe and to introduce to everyone attending details about our next Potato Convention and other concepts we are preparing for our readers. Also, I am delighted to be joined by Cedric, with a presentation about the hot topic of Brexit and its impact on the world of potatoes,” said Dan Orehov, PPI’s managing editor.

In his turn, Cedric Porter said: “The European political landscape has been dominated by the Brexit vote for the last few months. As the dust settles, this seminar will look at what impact the vote might have on the European potato industry and look beyond Brexit to discuss long-term global opportunities.”

Potato Europe is an international event dedicated to potatoes that takes place each year in one of the four partner countries (Germany, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands). After three years abroad, Potato Europe comes back to France, with the hope of repeating the success it had in 2012.

The event will cover an area of 44 hectares this year, 23 of which will feature demonstrations. “All these demonstrations and innovations – the fruits of a sustained R&D effort – reveal French potato production as among the most efficient in Europe.” says Didier Lombart, president of ARVALIS – Institut du Végétal’s Professional Potato Committee.
