Idaho Potato Malted Milkshake & Fries French Ice Cream is Out on the Market

The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is teaming up with Van Leeuwen, a New York-based nationally renowned brand known for their made-from-scratch dairy and vegan ice creams, to create a limited-edition ice cream inspired by one of America’s favorite food pairings: Idaho potato French fries and milkshakes.
Starting February 23rd, the limited-edition malted milkshake flavored ice cream with French fry bites will be available for purchase on Van Leeuwen’s website and in all scoop stores in Los Angeles and New York.
According to a recent national poll, Idaho potato French fries and milkshakes are one of the most irresistible taste combinations, narrowly beating out biscuits and gravy and chicken and waffles.
“The survey results confirmed for us that Idaho potatoes in any form, are the most versatile vegetable; the pairing options are endless. Idaho potatoes have earned their place at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, now we’ve got dessert covered, too!” Jamey Higham, President, and CEO, of IPC, explained.
Idaho Potato Malted Milkshake & Fries French Ice Cream is exactly what it sounds like: flawlessly crisped French fries dipped in a tall fountain glass filled with a creamy malted milkshake. Van Leeuwen’s in-house pastry team used Idaho potato flakes to make bites of French fry pieces throughout the flavor. The toasty caramel-flavored ice cream, made with premium ingredients, will transport you back to old-school diner days after just one taste.
While stocks last, pints of Idaho Potato Malted Milkshake & Fries will be available online at vanleeuwenicecream.com for USD12. The limited-edition flavor will be available in pints and scoops at all Van Leeuwen scoop stores in New York and Los Angeles.
