Idahoan Introduces Fortified Mashed Potatoes With Added Protein

Idahoan Foods, the Idaho Falls-based manufacturer of packaged potato products, has launched a new line of fortified mashed potatoes under the +PROTEIN™ label. The products, introduced on September 15, add six grams of protein per serving to the company’s instant potato portfolio.
The +PROTEIN™ range is available in three established flavours – Buttery Homestyle®, Loaded Baked and Roasted Garlic – and is positioned to meet rising consumer interest in functional foods. The products are free from artificial flavours and dyes, naturally gluten-free, and prepared in one minute with hot water.
Ryan Ellis, Vice President of Retail Marketing & Business Development at Idahoan Foods, said: “We remain committed to innovation, which means producing high-quality products that cater to an expanded range of consumer needs and lifestyles. With consumer demand booming for fortified and functional foods, +PROTEIN offers a convenient, flavorful option with an extra protein boost, allowing consumers to easily add more protein to their meals with zero compromise on taste.”
The new line reflects broader trends in the U.S. food industry, where consumer demand for protein-rich foods has continued to expand across both fresh and packaged categories. Idahoan Foods, which works closely with local growers and operates a nationwide distribution network, said the launch is part of its wider strategy to diversify its portfolio while maintaining a focus on value-added potato products.
Founded in Idaho and known for its “Real Potatoes, Real Easy™” positioning, the company supplies both retail and foodservice markets across the United States.
