Filtercorp Scores Biodegradable Certification for SuperSorb CarbonPads

Filtercorp has recently announced it has received the BPI Certification for its SuperSorb CarbonPads. This guarantees the biodegradable nature of its filters, which will not stay in landfills for years.
Foodservice processors and suppliers are starting to become more environmentally conscious and responsible for the production of their products. To this end, Filtercorp is offering a product that can be used and then safely disposed of, as the SuperSord CarbonPads are made using cellulose, which is a natural, biodegradable product.
Aiming to secure the trust of processors which are seeking to reduce their global waste and carbon footprint, Filtercrop decided to turn to the Biodegradability Products Institute (BPI), which worked to determine if the CarbonPads were indeed biodegradable.
The SuperSorb CarbonPads are frying filters developed specifically for treating frying oil. Blending activated carbon and cellulose fibers, along with other activated absorbents, the pads’ billions of tiny pores physically remove the contaminants from the oil.
