Equipment Manufacturer Manter Buys Shares in Solidtec BV

Manter International B.V – a company providing packaging and equipment solutions for the fresh produce industry including potato – has acquired shares in Solidtec BV. The latter has been manufacturing gantry style palletizing systems for fresh produce and other markets since 1999, announced Manter’s partner Volm Companies Inc. in a statement.
The merge allows for a close collaboration between the companies, resulting in a more cohesive process for customers who are more commonly choosing a single source for both packaging and end of line solutions for their operations.
With this merger, Volm will complement their portfolio of palletizing offerings for offering both robotic and now, conventional palletizing systems. Volm has been manufacturing custom robotic palletizing solutions since the company opened its Ancaster, Ontario facility in 2016. Since the opening, new palletizing and material handling solutions have been introduced for robotic palletizing.
For Manter in the European market, it has seen an influx in requests from their customers for help in integrating palletizing solutions into the packaging and weighing systems they install.
“The closer involvement and cooperation with the Solidtec team will enable us to be more efficient with the integrating of our weighing and packaging machines along with the palletizing solution of the customer needs for their applications,” noted Herman Wehkamp, managing director of Manter.
