tna’s Processing and Packaging Solutions for Food Manufacturers at interpack 2023

tna solutions will exhibit its processing and packaging solutions for food manufacturers globally at interpack 2023. Visitors to Hall 14’s booths C56 & D56 will be able to enter a fully functional virtual factory that allows for remote planning, scoping, and testing of production lines, reducing carbon impact and downtime.
Additionally, tna will display its most recent vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) packing system, the tna robag 3e, along with the tna auto-splice 3, for the first time in Europe. This “Perfect Pair” can boost production uptime by up to 5% while only adding 200mm to the total amount of floor area.
Visitors will also be able to evaluate how the use of single-serration jaws on VFFS packaging systems can help to decrease film consumption and improve sustainability credentials using tna’s proprietary sustainability calculator.
“Our purpose is to help our customers to realize ambitious sustainability goals and create a greener, more prosperous world. To cater for the growing aspirations of both brands and individuals towards a circular economy, we are very proud to apply our diverse capabilities and food industry experience to create solutions that improve the environmental footprint of manufacturing operations,” Nadia Taylor, Co-founder, and Director at tna solutions mentioned.
Achieving Sustainability in Real-world Applications
The tna sustainability area will also demonstrate the tna robag’s capacity to process a variety of sustainable film materials that adhere to industry standards. Along with the previously stated tna robag 3e and the tna auto-splice 3 with EtherCAT real-time protocol and an integrated display controller system, it also shows off an integrated line for snack producers.
The most recent software informs operators on the ideal weighing bucket configuration for prompt troubleshooting, greatly decreasing rejects, product, and material waste. The information is relayed from the tna checkweigher or the product in-seal inspection. As a consequence, with only a 200mm increase in the VFFS system footprint, snack manufacturers can now produce up to 2,800 more bags per line per day.
Visitors will be guided by tna experts through potential changes that can drive significant improvements in reducing environmental impact, such as the tna robag® 3e, which reduces product waste levels to 0.1% and provides a more efficient, sustainable packaging operation. With the world’s smallest VFFS footprint, the system saves up to 20% on energy due to improved productivity and intuitive power-saving software that instantly shuts down the system when not in use.
Reducing Material Waste
TNA will highlight single-serration jaws that assist in lowering the consumption of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP), a recyclable but non-biodegradable substance, to further assist snack producers on their sustainability path. The sustainability calculator, which is accessible throughout the program, enables snack companies to assess possible cost savings from the film. A 5mm material savings per gasket, for instance, is made possible by single-serration jaws.
These savings equate to 2.26m bags per month on VFFS systems that generate 150 bags per minute. It saves nearly 390 kilometers of film per month in a factory with 10 packaging machines that run for at least 12 hours each day.
“As demand for energy-efficient and sustainable operations continues to grow, our customers are seeking solutions to measure and manage the environmental impact of their production plants. We at tna believe that what is good for the environment can also be good for the bottom line. Reducing energy, waste and streamlining processing inevitably has a positive impact on product yield and line efficiency,” Eric Geling, Chief Sales Officer at tna solutions added.
tna to Reinforce its Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is high on tna’s agenda and is a key area on display at the stand. As a responsible processing and packaging solutions supplier, tna always has a firm eye on the trends that continue to shape the future. Visitors to the booth will have a chance to understand how tna can help them to take full advantage of the latest technological advancements, software upgrades, and sustainable material options.
The company’s motto of business with a purpose is further demonstrated in the meaningful contribution it is making to society through the philanthropic work enabled by the Nadia & Alf Taylor Foundation, which has supported vulnerable children, especially in education, across 39 countries, over the last 20 years.
“tna supports the collective ambition to make the world a better place and improve lives by supporting people, prosperity, and the planet in harmony. We believe true success is that which is shared by our company, our customers, and the broader community, and feel a moral obligation to create value so that we may help the less fortunate, especially children. One of the foundation’s key focus areas is the education of children in the regions in which we operate. It’s the gift that nobody can take away, and we, therefore, encourage our valued customers to also spend a little time to learn more in this dedicated section of the stand,” Taylor concluded.
