Sival 2026 in Angers Set to Drive Innovation in Specialized Plant Production

The 39th edition of Sival, France’s leading exhibition for specialised plant production, will take place from 13 to 15 January 2026 at the Parc des Expositions in Angers.
Positioned at the intersection of technology, agronomy, and sustainability, the event continues to expand its scope to include all major sectors of plant production — from fruit and vegetables to seeds, viticulture, and root crops such as potatoes.
The 2026 edition will revolve around three central themes: economic performance, climate adaptation, and the development of agricultural professions. These reflect the main structural shifts facing producers across Europe as they respond to market pressure, rising input costs, and the need for more resilient production systems.
For potato producers, Sival provides a window into cross-sector innovation directly applicable to their operations, from water-efficient cultivation and precision fertilisation to processing and packaging technologies. The event’s extensive conference programme and business meetings are expected to offer practical insight into maintaining profitability while meeting environmental targets.
With more than 700 exhibitors and nearly 25,000 professional visitors anticipated, Sival remains one of the largest European gatherings dedicated to crop production. Around 100 expert conferences and technical sessions will address topics such as automation, soil health, crop protection, and digital monitoring tools.
Two cornerstone competitions will once again highlight innovation. The Sival Innovation Competition will reward new products and technologies across seven categories, while the Agreen Défi — formerly Agreen Startup Marathon — will challenge multidisciplinary teams to develop artificial-intelligence and robotics-based tools for specialised production.
The show will also host the Fruit 2050 conference, organised with CTIFL and VEGEPOLYS Valley, returning on 13 January with a plenary session on orchard health protection.
Maintaining a strong international profile, Sival will welcome delegations and B2B exchanges under the VIBE business convention, reinforcing its role as a hub for collaboration between producers, researchers, and technology providers.
Held in the city widely regarded as the capital of plant production, Sival 2026 reaffirms its mission to support agricultural transition and prepare the next generation of sustainable food systems.
