Greenyard Foods to reorganize its frozen division in Poland

Greenyard Foods will reorganize its Frozen Division in Poland, planning to realize efficiency improvements, which includes downsizing the team to 60 employees.
The action is a part of its operational excellence program. Greenyard Foods will centralize at the Lipno site its Polish frozen processing and packing activities from the manufacturing sites of Lipno and Elk.
The storage activities will remain in Elk. As a result, the net impact on employment within the Polish organization is estimated at 60 people. The company will help the staff affected by the restructuring to find new employment.
The reorganization of Pinguin Foods Poland fits in the four strategic priorities of Greenyard Foods: focus on both customer and consumer, operational excellence, cash flow improvements and investing in the organization. To achieve operational excellence, the Group is continuously investigating opportunities to further improve efficiency.
The reorganization and investment in Poland is the result of a detailed analysis, including agro supply and infrastructure. The reorganization will be initiated in spring 2015. Marleen Vaesen, CEO of Greenyard Foods, said on the plans announced:
“Operational excellence is a key strategic priority for Greenyard Foods. This reorganization in Poland is an important step to further optimize our operational activities by concentrating activities in fewer factories. We are confident the centralization and investments will contribute to our growth in Poland and the Frozen Division as a whole.”
