Burts Strengthens Retail Footprint With Ridges 150g Launch In Tesco South West

Award-winning British snack producer Burts is set to strengthen its regional presence this November as two of its Ridges 150g sharing packs – Beef & Mustard and Mature Cheddar & Caramelised Onion Chutney – gain new listings in Tesco South West stores.
The move extends Burts’ existing Tesco offering, which already includes its hand-cooked range in flavours such as Lightly Sea Salted, Sea Salt & Malt Vinegar, Mature Cheddar & Onion, Devon Roast Beef, and Herb Roasted Chicken.
Both Ridges variants are part of Burts’ core portfolio, recognised for their bold flavour and distinctive ridge-cut texture. The Beef & Mustard crisps are made with beef from Eversfield Organic Farm in Okehampton, while the Mature Cheddar & Caramelised Onion Chutney flavour features cheese from Devon-based Quicke’s. The latter was introduced earlier this year and has since become one of the brand’s bestsellers.
The new Tesco listing coincides with a refresh of the Ridges packaging, featuring more vibrant visuals and clearer flavour cues to enhance shelf presence. This update forms part of Burts’ broader brand strategy to reinforce its premium positioning and ensure a consistent consumer experience.
According to market data cited by the company, the hand-cooked crinkle crisp category has grown by 14% in value and 15% in volume, outperforming other premium snack segments.
“We’re proud to be expanding our footprint with Tesco through this regional listing,” said Rikin Lakhani, Managing Director, Europe Snacks. “It reflects both the strength of our partnership with one of the UK’s leading retailers and the growing demand from consumers for high-quality, flavourful snacks they can enjoy with confidence.”
The new 150g Ridges sharing packs are positioned to meet growing consumer appetite for rich, savoury and indulgent flavours, while emphasising Burts’ use of locally sourced ingredients and premium production standards.
Founded in 1999 and based in Devon, Burts has built its reputation on crafting hand-cooked potato chips made from Red Tractor-approved British potatoes and authentic ingredients. The company has earned multiple accolades, including a Great Taste Award (2025) and several regional golds at the 2024 Taste of the West and Food Drink Devon Awards.
With this latest Tesco expansion, Burts continues to build on its mission to deliver authentic, flavour-led snacking experiences rooted in regional provenance and quality craftsmanship.
