Key Technology is Exhibiting Its Sorter and Conveying Technologies at interpack 2023

In addition to showing their other top-notch machinery, Key Technology will demonstrate their VERYX optical sorter and Zephyr horizontal-motion conveyor in Hall 6/B73 at interpack 2023 in Düsseldorf, Germany, from May 4–10, 2023.
“Food processors worldwide are facing enormous market challenges – fluctuations in crop quality due to extreme weather, increasing defects resulting from stricter legislation on the use of pesticides, widespread labor shortages, consumer demands for higher product quality, and more. We’re addressing these issues with our next-generation food processing technologies designed for Industry 4.0 plants. To meet processors’ specific requirements and regional conditions, we collaborate closely with each customer to understand their needs and fine-tune our systems to suit their unique applications. We back that up with local tech support, so our customers are taken care of, no matter where their facility is located,” Antoine van Bree, President, of Key Technology – EMEIA and Asia, said.
At interpack 2023, Key will display its innovative VERYX digital sorter, which locates and eliminates foreign material (FM) and user-specified flaws to assure product quality, safeguard food safety, and practically eliminate false rejects while lowering labor needs. VERYX can be designed to sort fresh, dried, and frozen fruits and vegetables, potato products, nuts, confectioneries, pet foods, and more. It integrates smoothly with Key’s specialized material handling systems. To optimize sorting and better manage upstream and downstream operations, Key Discovery software gathers, analyzes, and shares data.
Zephyr softly transports product with little bounce to safeguard product quality and minimize noise while achieving larger capacities than comparable horizontal-motion conveyors. Zephyr’s distinct motion profile slides and conveys product without segregation or stratification, reducing product damage and loss of coatings like seasoning and batter. It is ideal for processing and packaging lines handling frozen foods as well as dry products like potato chips/crisps, nuts, and cereals. Customers can flow product in either direction thanks to a reversible construction, which maximizes the versatility of the line.
To assist customers optimize product quality, increase yield, decrease labor, and improve line efficiency, Key offers a wide range of high-performance food processing and packaging technologies together with best-in-class service and support. OCULUS sorters for whole potatoes, Optyx sorters for potato chips/crisps, and ADR automatic defect removal systems for potato strips are some of Key’s other well-liked vision inspection systems in addition to VERYX. Throughout processing and packaging lines, Key’s Iso-Flo, Impulse, Marathon, and Zephyr vibratory conveyors, as well as its rotary size graders and other mechanical solutions, are perfect for a variety of applications.
