UK Potato Sector Prepares for BP2025 in Harrogate as Registration Goes Live

Registration is now open for the British Potato Industry Event 2025 (BP2025), which will take place on 19–20 November at the Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate.
The biennial trade fair brings together the UK potato sector, from growers and packers to processors, retailers, and researchers. Organisers expect several thousand visitors to attend what is described as the premier platform for knowledge exchange and business networking across the supply chain.
The seminar programme has been confirmed, with sessions focused on both immediate industry challenges and long-term opportunities. Topics will include adapting to the evolving late blight threat, ensuring potatoes retain their place in consumer diets, changes to the UK’s seed potato supply, and the development of reduced input potato varieties. Another session will explore the continued role of the Maris Piper variety. Speakers include industry experts and academics such as Prof Ian Toth, Dr David Cooke, Prof David Hughes, Cedric Porter, Simon Fox, Dr Katherine Steele, and others.
GB Potatoes is confirmed as the event’s Knowledge Exchange Partner. BASIS and NRoSO members will be able to collect points from the seminars.
Alongside the conference programme, BP2025 will host over 150 suppliers across expansive indoor and outdoor exhibition areas. Exhibitors will showcase machinery, processing and packaging solutions, handling and grading systems, agronomy services, and technical demonstrations. Organisers highlight the event’s role in enabling growers and processors to access new technologies, meet suppliers, and exchange best practices with peers from across the UK and Europe.
Visitor registration is free and can be completed at www.britishpotato.co.uk
