European Potato Prices Are “Getting Stronger”

Germany’s new potato crop prices are said to be getting stronger. Additionally, low spud yields are reportedly caused by compaction and severe rains, which lowers the quantity of tubers. The early potato harvest is in high demand in Spain, and prices have increased. Values of former farms are rising as a result of good migration to Northern and Eastern Europe.
The potato plantings have now come to an end in the United Kingdom as well. Contract movement is strong, and some packers are still in need of coverage to last them through the upcoming season.
In Ireland, the potato plantings have only finished up over the past few days in the southeast.
“It is speculated that numbers under plants will be lower as crops are so late being planted. There is a lot of demand and inquiries for any new season crop coming onto the market as stocks become increasingly tight,” the IFA potato experts reported in their latest info available.
