Royal Avebe Raises 2024 Campaign Price to EUR115 per Tonne as Payouts Surge 20%

Royal Avebe has announced a €10 increase in the 2024 campaign price for starch potatoes, raising the final payout to €115 per tonne for A-volume potatoes. The Dutch cooperative confirmed the adjustment on May 28, 2025, following the completion of its potato processing operations for the season.
The new figure includes a €5 members’ bonus and reflects higher-than-anticipated processing volumes. The additional €10 per tonne will be distributed to members in early June.
Growers will also receive performance-based components, including premiums for starch content, delivery timing, quality, and full A-volume delivery. Avebe reports that the overall ex-farm payout price is approximately 20% higher than in the previous campaign.
“In crop year 2020, the campaign price was still €72.50 per tonne, while in 2024 it rose to €115 per tonne,” the cooperative stated, underscoring its ambition to “increase its members’ earning power.”
Further distribution from Avebe’s annual cooperative result is scheduled for December 2025, following the members’ council meeting on December 9. The final amount will depend on the company’s financial performance for the year ending July 31.
The outlook for the 2025 campaign is positive, with the planting season having started two to three weeks earlier than last year in both the Netherlands and Germany. “There is more interest in starch potatoes in the cropping plan than last year,” Avebe noted, signalling continued market confidence.
The pricing update aligns with the cooperative’s Accelerate and Strengthen strategy, which focuses on reinforcing market position and increasing the added value of potato-derived ingredients such as starch and protein. Avebe said it is “working in a targeted way to accelerate the earning capacity of its members,” by building on both operational scale and product innovation.
