Calbee Launches Salted Egg Flavor Chips in Japan
Calbee recently introduced a new potato chips flavor to the Japanese market. The ‘Salted Egg Flavor’ will be released in limited quantities at Family Mart stores nationwide from May 25.
According to a press release, the potato chips boasting the “salted egg taste” are a popular flavor overseas, but it has been challenging maintaining the rich egg flavor while matching the taste preference of Japanese consumers.
The potato chips are shaped as a thin slice and their flavor have been enriched with parsley flakes for accent.
The packaging is in the shape of 60g bags that retail for 158 yen (USD1.47) in selected stores.
