Side Delights Targets Convenience Trend With New Flavorables Potato Product

Side Delights has introduced a new value-added potato product designed to address growing consumer demand for convenient meal solutions.
The brand, supplied by Fresh Solutions Network (FSN), announced the launch of Flavorables, a microwave-ready petite potato product that combines small yellow potatoes with pre-portioned seasoning blends. The product is intended to offer retailers a ready-to-cook side dish solution while tapping into consumer demand for speed, flavor and ease of preparation.
Flavorables packages pair one pound of petite potatoes with dry seasoning blends developed by US-based spice company Spiceology. The product can be prepared in the microwave in approximately five minutes, targeting households seeking faster meal preparation options.
“Flavorables was created to make potatoes quicker to prepare while delivering the bold flavors consumers are seeking on restaurant menus,” said Kathleen Triou, President and CEO of Fresh Solutions Network.
“Consumer research consistently shows that potato buyers over-index for convenience and seek products that reduce prep time without sacrificing flavor or variety, and we’re giving retailers a turn-key side dish solution that drives convenience, excitement, and incremental growth.”
Chef-Inspired Seasonings Target Flavor Trends
The new line incorporates seasoning blends developed by Spiceology, a US seasoning company known for chef-created dry spice blends. The initial range includes four varieties: Greek Freak, Butter-licious Garlic & Herb, Cheese Pizza and Garlic Parmesan.
According to the companies involved, the flavors were selected to reflect popular menu trends and consumer preferences for bold, savory taste profiles.
“Restaurant data continues to show strong consumer interest in Mediterranean flavors, indulgent cheese-forward dishes, and garlic-centric profiles,” said Darby McLean, CEO of Spiceology.
“Flavorables will translate these trends into an accessible retail format with our ground-fresh seasonings with no artificial flavors or fillers.”
Each pack includes a recyclable tray containing petite potatoes together with the seasoning blends, enabling consumers to cook the product directly in the microwave.
Pennsylvania-Grown Potatoes Supply The New Line
The yellow petite potatoes used in Flavorables are grown by the Masser Family of Companies, a Pennsylvania-based farming business and one of the partners within the Fresh Solutions Network grower group.

Retail Strategy Focused On Value-Added Potatoes
Fresh Solutions Network said the new line is intended to provide retailers with additional value-added potato offerings that can expand usage occasions beyond traditional potato preparation.
The company highlighted opportunities for cross-merchandising with proteins and other meal components, positioning the product as a quick side dish option for busy households.
Flavorables is now shipping and will be supported by merchandising materials and promotional assets designed to encourage in-store visibility and consumer trial.
